What is Salvation?
-
It is the undeserved gift that provides a relationship with God.

It’s your sins that have cut you off from God. Because of your sins, he has turned away and will not listen anymore. - Isaiah 59:2 (NLT)

For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. - Romans 3:23-24 (NLT)

-
It causes us to be “born again” or to be “born from above” (regeneration).

Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot see the Kingdom of God.” - John 3:3 (NLT)

So don’t be surprised when I say, ‘You must be born again.’ - John 3:7 (NLT)

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! - 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT)

He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. - Titus 3:5 (NLT)

What are some benefits of Salvation?
-
It sets us free from the power of sin.

And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins. - John 5:24 (NLT)

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 6:23 (NLT)

-
It justifies us and enables us to have fellowship with God.

And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. - Romans 5:9 (NLT)

Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone. - Romans 5:18 (NLT)

-
The Holy Spirit enters us as His temple and adopts us as children of God.

So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” - Romans 8:15 (NLT)

Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself. - 1 Corinthians 6:19 (NLT)
How do i receive Salvation?
-
Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

Therefore, we never stop thanking God that when you received his message from us, you didn’t think of our words as mere human ideas. You accepted what we said as the very word of God—which, of course, it is. And this word continues to work in you who believe. - 1 Thessalonians 2:13 (NLT)

So get rid of all the filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls. - James 1:21 (NLT)

-
Believe in your heart that God has raised Jesus from the dead.

But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. - John 1:12 (NLT)

Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.
- John 11:25 (NLT)

-
Confess in prayer that Jesus is Lord.

If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. - Romans 10:9-10 (NLT)

-
Decide to turn from your life of sin (repent).

I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners and need to repent. - Luke 5:32 (NLT)

Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. - Acts 3:19 (NLT)

God overlooked people’s ignorance about these things in earlier times, but now he commands everyone everywhere to repent of their sins and turn to him. - Acts 17:30 (NLT)

Now I am glad I sent it, not because it hurt you, but because the pain caused you to repent and change your ways. It was the kind of sorrow God wants his people to have, so you were not harmed by us in any way. For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death. Just see what this godly sorrow produced in you! Such earnestness, such concern to clear yourselves, such indignation, such alarm, such longing to see me, such zeal, and such a readiness to punish wrong. You showed that you have done everything necessary to make things right. - 2 Corinthians 7:9-11
